A four-day doctoral study trip program titled “ESG Green Economic Transition and Future Development”?was successfully co-hosted by China Three Gorges International?Limited?(CTGI) and the City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) Business School from October 26 to 29?in Yichang and Wuhan.?
Led by Professor Wilton Chau Chiwai, Independent Director of CTGI and Visiting Professor at CityUHK, over 20 participants conducted field research at sites including the Gezhouba Ship Lock, the Three Gorges Project Museum, the Three Gorges Hydropower Complex, the Yangtze River Rare Fish Conservation Center and the Yangtze River Rare Plant Institute.?These?on-site sessions provided firsthand insights into the project operations?and ecological protection practices, highlighting its achievements in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspects.
The program was further featured by expert lecture?on the Three Gorges Project?by CTGI Director Guan Jielin, while representative from the CTGI Board Office shared the company’s innovative approaches and outcomes in establishing its ESG governance system.?These sessions sparked vibrant discussions on corporate ESG governance, global strategy, green technology application, public awareness?of the benefits of hydropower etc.
Participants applauded the program’s?effective combination of field experience and theoretical depth, noting its value in bridging ESG principles with actionable?green transitions.
By pioneering such innovative "Business-University" partnership in ESG education,?CTGI demonstrated its continued commitment?to advancing ESG principles globally. The company?will keep collaborating with?all sectors to power the transition towards a green economy.
